The thumb rest on the Evoluent Vertikal Mouse 4 has been redesigned to provide even greater comfort than previous versions. The new bottom thumb button provides significantly expanded functionality when used with the included controller.

The Evoluent VerticalMouse was first evaluated in 2007 by a team at the UC Berkeley Health Services Clinic, including physicians, physical therapists, an ergonomics expert, and PC administrators. It has been found to be comfortable, easy to adjust and supports proper wrist, forearm and body posture. It was the only vertical type of mouse that was approved for staff use within UC Berkeley. Current models have also been evaluated and approved.
